These Granite Bay, California empty nesters were eager to bring their kitchen and family rooms up to date and to push out inevitable clutter. The contemporary style came readily as the original architecture of the home was modern and clean-lined. We quickly dismissed the worn-out painted cabinetry and outdated finishes in favor of clean lines and warm woods, sophisticated and understated limestone counters, and sparkly glass backsplash tiles.
