Essential to good design is a thorough understanding of your individual needs, preferences, and personal tastes and this is where we begin. I listen, ask many questions, wander your residence or business, study your wish list and tear sheets, your needs. Then I start with the big picture: I pull options and potential ideas, the pare down and edit ingredients. For a remodeling project, for instance, the concept recommendation would include an overall design 'look and feel', wood, floor, counter and wall finish options, an overall color palette, a detailed space plan and elevation drawings of critical cabinetry. I include decorative lighting, fabrics and floor coverings in the design concept phase as this brings everything to life and vividly demonstrates the larger design concept and color palette.
Not every design project requires the same service and during our initial meeting we will discuss the needed services and define the design scope of work. This may include:
Programming
- Interview to determine client needs, schedules and budgets, marketing strategies for small businesses
- Establish functional and aesthetics goals
- Inventory existing furnishings and other items to be reused
- Assist in developing the project timeline and project budget
- Document work flow and functional requirements for small businesses
Interior Design
- Overall design concept development
- Provide space plans with furniture layouts
- Assist in material, finish and furnishings specifications
- Provide sketches and/or presentation boards of interior selections, architecture details
- Review and coordinate furniture layouts with lighting and electrical plans
- Design and fabricate soft furnishings: window treatments, bedding, pillows
Procurement & Fabrication

Preparation Of Construction Documents
- Interior details and design, including cabinets, millwork, etc.
- Finish plans and schedules
Project Administration
- Coordinate and review drawings with contractors

- Provide assistance during move-in
- Provide punch lists of all work to be completed
